Oakley - Griffin Miller and his wife Elizabeth formerly Oakley, James L Knight and Henrietta his wife formerly Oakley - William Oakley - for value received by us of Thomas G Oakley, have bargained and sold and hereby transfer, convey and assign, release-relinquish-surrender and firm to said Thomas G. Oakley and his heirs forever all and each of our right, title interest and claim in and to the real estate of our paternal grandfather Shadrack Oakley late of the County of Cumberland and State of Virginia deceased the real estate of said Shadrack to which we are entitled is our share of a lot of land of ____ acres in said County of Cumberland drawn by the heirs of our father Francis Oakley, dec. Of which heirs we are a portion, the boundaries of said lot can be ascertained by reference to the records of ________Court of Cumberland County Virginia. To have and to hold the interest in said lot of land above conveyed and described to said Thomas G. Oakley his heirs and assigns forever. For ourselves our heirs and representatives we severally covenant with said Thomas A. Oakley his heirs and representatives to warrant and defend forever the title of the interest in said lot of land above conveyed and described, to said Thomas G. Oakley his heirs and assigns against the lawful claim of every person. Given under our hands and seals this 18th day of March 1850. Francis M. Oakley Griffin Miller Elizabeth I?G. Miller William L. Oakley, Griffin Miller and Elizabeth his wife, James L Knight and Henrietta his wife and William Oakley wish every of whom I am personally acquainted this day appeased before me a Justice of the Peace for the County aforesaid and severally acknowledged the execution of the foregoing Deed by item to Thomas G. Oakley on the day and for the purposes therein expressed and Elizabeth Miller and Henrietta Knight appeared before me privately and apart from their said husbands the said Griffin Miller and James L Knight, and acknowledged the execution of the foregoing deed by them the said Elizabeth and Henrietta, to have been done by them freely and voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or restraint from their said husbands respectively and for the purposes therein expressed. Witness my hand and private seal, their being no official seal this 29th day of November 1851. John T.
