Cumberland County Also See: Andrews, William Cumberland County: I do hereby certifie that I have examined Wm. Criddle, a pensioner residing in said County, who lost his left leg in the service of the United States, and it my opinion that from the above said misfortune and his present unhealthy state, he is incapable of supporting himself by labour or otherwise. Signed: WW Warfield, surg. 2nd M. Regt., formerly. March 10 1787 15 pounds yearly was granted to Criddle. I do with the advice of Council hereby certify that Wm. Criddle, about 32 years of age, late a private in the 2nd Virginia Regt.and whose pay was at the rate of 24 pounds per annum was wounded by the loss of his right arm while in the service of the United States as to entitle him to the sum of fifteen pounds yearly, which allowance is accordingly made him , to commence from the 1st day of January 1786.
