I do certify that Robert Reding was a soldier in the Continental Army and he was wounded whilst under my command at the action at Ca---- at South Carolina. Given under my hand October 25 1786 Signed: J Hawes, formerly Lt. Col. 1st V regt. Robert Reding was a private in the 1st State Regiment. Signed: T. Meriwether I do with the advice of Council hereby certify that Robert Reding of the County of Campbell about 26 years of age late a private in the First State Regiment appears to have been disabled in such a manner while in the service of the United States as to entitle him to the sum of eighteen pounds yearly; which allowance is accordingly made him to commence from the first day of January 1786.
