Thanks be to Almighty God and knowing the uncertainty of this earthly life do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following _______ revoking and making void all will or wills by me formerly made. First I recommend my soul to Almighty God in whom and by the merits of Jesus Christ I trust and believe to be saved and my body to be buried in such a decent and Christian like manner as my executors hereafter named shall think fit and as for temporal estate and what else God hath been pleased to bestow upon me I give and bequeath as follows. Item I give and bequeath unto my three sons John, Thomas, and Garnett Andrews the land and plantation that I have in Prince Edward (?) county to be equally divided between them my three sons I give it to them and their heirs forever and if either of these my sons should die without heir my will is that it should be divided between the two surviving sons. Item I give and bequeath unto my two sons, William and Wiatt Andrews the land and plantation whereon I now live to be equally divided between these my two sons I give it to them and their heirs forever if either of these my sons should die without heir my will is that the other surviving son should have it I give it to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Jess Andrews twenty shillings sterling he having been rewarded by me. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Griffen twenty shillings sterling she having been rewarded by me. Item I give unto my four (?) sons William, Thomas, Garnet, and Wiatt Andrews twenty five pounds current money for each of them I give it to them and their heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Susanna Andrews one negro girl named Pender (?) and five pounds current money of Virginia - I give it to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Andrews one negro girl named Lucy I give it to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my eight children John Andrews, William Andrews, Thomas Andrews, Garnet Andrews, Wiatt Andrews, Hannah Andrews, Susanna Andrews, and Ann Andrews all my negroes chattel and household stuff and all the rest of my personal estate after all my debt is paid to be equally divided between these my eight children I give it to them and their heirs forever. Item I constitute and appoint my two sons John Andrews and William Andrews executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand ordered this ninth day of November in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and seventy four. At a court held for Cumberland county 24th July 1775 this last will and testament of Mark Andrews deceased was exhibited in court by John Andrews one of the executors therein named and the same was proved by the witness _________ and ordered to be recorded and on the motion of the said executor who made oath according to law (?) certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form giving executor whereupon he with William Davenport, John Slaughter, Moses Arnold and Bernard Gaines his securities entered into bond(?) according to laws and liberty is reserved to the other executor to join in probate.
