Anderson MINERAL, Va. -- John H. Anderson, 65, formerly of Dickenson County, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2003, at his residence. Arrangements are incomplete at this time at Haysi Funeral Home. Bristol Herald Courier Saturday, March 15, 2003 John H. Anderson MINERAL, Va. -- John H. Anderson, 65, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2003, at his residence. Born at Birchleaf in Dickenson County, he was the son of the late Trigg Anderson and Fannie Owens Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Kay Tobin Anderson, in 1978. Before his retirement, he had been employed with the Virginia Department of Corrections and VEBCO as a security guard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Surviving are two sons, Wade Anderson of Mineral and Shane Anderson of Richmond; six sisters, Myrtle Charles of Haysi, Marie "Bill" Sutherland and Reba Rowe, both of Bristol Virginia, Ponzell Salyers of Clinchco, and Prince Sutherland and Nell Owens, both of Birchleaf; four nieces; and three nephews. The funeral service will be Sunday, March 16, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Haysi Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dion Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis-Anderson Cemetery at Birchleaf. Friends will serve as pallbearers. A military graveside service will be conducted by VFW Post 8979 and American Legion 227 of Clintwood. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2003, at the fuereal home where a song service will be held at 7 p.m. Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
