Bartley HAYSI -- Funeral service for James Carroll "Smokey" Bartley will be conducted 10 a.m. Dec. 25, 2002, at Haysi Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Sluss officiating. Burial will follow in the Bartley-Wallace Cemetery, Haysi. Deacons of the Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Haysi Funeral Home where an evening service will be held at 6 p.m. with Rev. Jack Mullins. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund. Mr. Bartley, 76, of Route 1, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
