Neece CLINTWOOD -- Baxter Oley Neece, 105, formerly of Trammel, died Nov. 18, at Heritage Hall. Born in the Bear Ridge Section of Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Elijah and Margaret (Peg) Neece. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Pearl Johnson Neece; his son, Carson Neece; and two daughters, Glenna Kiser and Neva Neece. He attended Trammel Baptist Church and was a member of the Methodist church at the Bear Ridge School where he was baptized in 1935. He was formerly employed by Ritters Lumber Company, Hall Coal Company, Bostic Coal Company and the WPA. Surviving are two sons, Oscar Neece, Trammel and Arby Neece, Florrisant, Mo.; daughter, Effie McMillan, Newport News; 16 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in the Dyers Chapel Church in Stratton with Jeremiah Sluss officiating. Burial will be in the Neece Cemetery, Bear Ridge Section. Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be great- grandsons. The body will be taken to the church at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, where a song service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Mullins Funeral Home is serving the Neece family.
