Church BIRCHLEAF, Va. -- Darlene O. Church, 69, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of Peggy Conaway O'quinn and the late Corbett O'quinn. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack J. Church; and three brothers, Jerry, Harlan and Vada O'quinn. In addition to her mother, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Dennis Owens of Birchleaf; one grandson, Brian Ray Owens; six sisters, Dora Church and Hazel Hackney, both of Birchleaf, Betsy Cantrell of Pikeville, Ky., Mazie Wood and Helen Rose, both of Haysi, and Cathy Sykes of Clintwood; and three brothers, Teddy O'quinn and Larry J. O'quinn, both of Birchleaf, and Jackie O'quinn of Haysi; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders Andy Deel, Mark Justice, Ralph Mullins and Toy Looney officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Birchleaf. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, at Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church where an evening service will be held at 7 p.m. Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
