Fletcher KINGSPORT -- Gladys Coleman Fletcher, 74, went to be with her Lord Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at the Holston Valley Medical Center following a long illness. Gladys was born in Haysi, Feb. 18, 1928, a daughter of the late Rufus and Della (Charles) Coleman. Gladys was a member of the Higher Ground Baptist Church and retired from the fabric department of Wal-Mart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Gerald Coleman. Gladys is survived by her loving husband, Victor Fletcher of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Mike Fletcher of Front Royal, Va., and Darrell Fletcher and wife Rita of Kingsport; grandchildren, Amy Rebecca Monroe and husband Josh of Gray, Tenn., Michael Paul Fletcher of Front Royal; a sister, Bertha Owens of Haysi; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Richard Ratliff officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mary Barker and Ruby McNutt. Family and friends will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life for a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Higher Ground Baptist Church, 1625 Lynn Garden Drive, Kingsport, TN. Condolences may be sent via email at elawnfuneralhome@aol.com.
