Nickles CLINTWOOD -- Dora Mildred Lester Nickles, 91, went to be with her Lord, Nov. 30, 2002, at DCMC. She was of the Baptist faith. She worked for WM Ritter as a cook. She was born on Big A Mountain, Buchanan County, June 30, 1911. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Zed Lester and Dewey Boone. She was also preceded in death by her father, Charlie Lester, and her mother, Christine Davis Lester; and her husband, John Henry Nickles. Survivors include two sons, John Charles Bill Nickles and wife, Nancy, of Warren, Mich., and Rufus Edward Shanghi Nickles and wife, Kim, of Clintwood; and two daughters, Betty Nickles Fleming and husband, Jimmy, of Clintwood and Peggy Harry of Ft. Pierce, Fla. She is also survived by a special friend, Magaline Widner Phillips; 14 grandchildren, Jeff Nickles, Shawn Nickles, Wendy Nickles, Kevin Nickles, Steven Fleming, J. Brent Fleming, Lauren Nickles, Chasity Glisson, Christian Nickles, David Harry, Russell Harry, Lynn Harry, Charlene Harry and Bobby Harry; and 20 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to caregivers, Betsy Yates, Patsy Mullins, Thelma Moore and Annie Mullins. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. LynnVanover officiating. Burial will be in Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood. Pallbearers will be gandsons and granddaughters. Mullins Funeral Home is serving the Nickles family.
