Research made by Mamie Fraser Cemetery Location: 2 miles east of Dinwiddie, Virginia, on Route #626; thence 5 miles south on Route #660; thence 1.6 miles west on Route #609; thence south 3 miles on Route #619; thence west about 100 yards on private road. Dinwiddie County DATE: Prior to 1887. OWNERS: Doctor Marvin Richard Griswold, original owner. Willie Henry Abernathey purchased the property after Doctor Griswold and his son died. James H. Abernathey, son of Willis Henry Abernathey, is the present owner. (1936) DESCRIPTION: There are no tombstones in the graveyard. It is enclosed with a plain wire fence. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following persons are buried in the plot: Mrs. Mary Walker Griswold 1st wife of Marvin Richard Griswold Whose date of birth & death is not known. And probably the first person to be buried in this burying ground. Marvin Richard Griswold Born in 1807 Died in the autumn of 1887 Aged 80 years Richard Walker Griswold Son of Marvin R. & Mary Walker Griswold Born 1838 Died in the autumn 1888 Aged 50 years Jane Thrift Griswold 2nd wife of Marvin R.
