Boisseau family graveyard: 1937 Feb. 4 Research made by Dorothy Gray Pilout Cemetery Location: .2 mile east of Dinwiddie, Virginia, on Route #1; thence 2.6 miles on Route #661; thence .1 mile east of Route #661 on a private lane to the Boisseau home; thence .1 mile southeast across a field to this site. Dinwiddie County DATE: About 1840. OWNERS: This graveyard was first owned by John E. Boisseau, and remained in the family until the present date, 1927. It is now owned by Miss Hattie Moody and her brother, Thomas Fortune Moody, both of Church Road, Virginia, and they are two of the grandchildren of John E. and Emily Perkins Boisseau. DESCRIPTION: This graveyard is in the edge of a wooded section and is not enclosed. There are many bushes and a few trees in this plot, which covers less than one-fourth of an acre. Several members of the John E. Boisseau family are buried here, but only one grave has a tombstone, which is of a very recent date. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: John E. He was a son of John E. and Emily Perkins Boisseau Mrs. Dolly Heath date of birth and death unknown She was a Miss Moody before her marriage Dolly Heath date of birth and death unknown. He was the husband of Mrs. Dolly Heath (evidently an error was made on the name of this gentleman as the papers clearly state “Dolly” Heath) The only grave which has a tombstone in this graveyard is that of Robert Lewis, of a recent date.
