Powell Cemetery Location: On Route #360 3 miles west of Hebron, Virginia, thence north on Route #625, 1.7 miles, thence west .1 mile on private lane. Dinwiddie County DATE: 1881, only date on the marker. OWNERS: Mr. E.W. Allen, Hebron, Virginia. (1937) DESCRIPTION: The Bushrod Carr graveyard is about .2 mile south of the site of the house; no road. It is enclosed by a wire fence, twenty by twenty feet. There is one square monument with three inscriptions thereon. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following are the inscriptions on the monument: Carr Bushrod Carr Died July 9, 1881 In the 85 Year In Memory of Susan Carr Mother of Bushrod Carr In Memory of Mary Ann Carr Sister of Bushrod Carr It is said that John Carr was the last one buried here; and his grave is only a mound, with no marker.
