Cemetery Location:  2.5 miles west of Sutherland, Virginia, on the south side of 
                    Cox Road, .5 mile from this road, on a high hill in the 
                    woods.
                    Dinwiddie County


DATE:

The earliest date on a tombstone is 1882.

OWNERS:

Mr. P. W. Crowder, Sutherland, Virginia.

DESCRIPTION:

This is a family cemetery, and is located on a high hill, a quarter mile from 
the P. W. Crowder home.

(Emmett P. Crowder’s wife is buried at his side, but there is no stone to mark 
her grave.  She was Rosa Watts before her marriage, born in 1856 and died in 
February 1927.)


On a big stone in the center of a square, are the following inscriptions:

and

Nov. 28, 1884


There are several graves in this cemetery which are not marked, and one is that 
of Mrs. Josephine Pamplin, who was a Crowder before her marriage.  She died at 
the age of twenty-two.  She has a daughter buried here also, and her grave is 
unmarked.

A large frames Certificate:  Josiah Watts, died June 20, 1895, aged 77 years
                             Louisa Watts, died Dec. 27, 1900, aged 80 years
                             The Watts were the parents of Mrs. E.P. Crowder
                             Mary E. Crowder, died May 1882, aged 62 years
                             Herbert Crowder, died Oct. 1885, aged 64 years
