Dinwiddie County DATE: About 1885 OWNERS: E. G. Haddon, Percy Haddon and Charles Haddon. (1937) DESCRIPTION: The graveyard is enclosed with a plain wire fence and markers are to be found at each grave. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscriptions are to be seen on the tombstones: To the memory of Our Father Edmund Haddon Born June 24, 1799 Died May 7, 1826 Earth has no sorrow That heaven cannot heal Mrs. Sally H. Haddon Born October 14, 1804 Died August 2, 1896 Our mother and aunt Has gone to mansions of rest. From a region of sorrow and pain, To the glorious by the Deity blest, Where they never suffer again. In loving remembrance of my beloved husband, Joseph F. Haddon Born April 29, 1841 Died March 26, 1900 Although he sleeps His memory doth live And cheering comfort To his memory give, He followed virtue As his truest guide, Lived as a “Christian”, And as a Christian died. In loving remembrance of our mother, Virginia S. Haddon Born November 27, 1843 Died December 11, 1913 The pains of death are passed Labor and sorrow cease And life’s long warfare closed at last Her soul is found in peace. Miss Martha W.
