Dinwiddie County DATE: The burial ground was begun in 1826. OWNERS: The property on which the graveyard is located is owned now (1937) by Mr. Morris Browning. DESCRIPTION: The burial place is in a grove and there are two large table-tombs to be found. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscriptions are to be seen on the tombs: Sacred to the memory of Mrs. Mary Oliver Of Dinwiddie County, Virginia Born 1748 And who departed this life On the 28th of February 1826 Aged 78 years Her youngest child and son Thomas A. Oliver Has caused to be erected This memory of a beloved mother Wrested from him on earth To be restored He trust in Heaven Farewell mother near and dear I’ll try and be resigned Though you are dead and I’m alive In glory I hope you will shine In Memory of Thomas A.
