DINWIDDIE CO., VA - CEMETERIES – Rose Cemetery ----¤¤¤---- Source: Library of Virginia Digital Collection LVA Titled Files: Survey Report, The Patsy Rose graveyard: 1937 Aug. 20 Research made by Mamie Fraser Cemetery Location: 9 miles southeast of Dinwiddie, Virginia on Route #626, thence west 1.6 mile on Route #665, thence north .2 mile on a private road. Dinwiddie County DATE: Exact date of beginning not definitely known, probably in 1829. OWNERS: The plot has been reserved and is now owned by Peter Slate, a descendant of Thomas Rose. DESCRIPTION: The burial ground is almost covered with small trees and bushes, a very much neglected spot. There are no tombstones to mark the graves in the plot. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following persons are known to be buried in the graveyard: Thomas Rose, the first Died March 2, 1829 Richard Rose died in the year 1834 Alijah Rose, son of Thomas and Martha died in 1840 Martha Rose wife of Thomas died in 1850 Stith Rose son of Thomas and Martha died in 1850 Susan Rose daughter of Thomas and Martha died in 1851 Lucy Rose daughter of Thomas and Martha died in 1852 George W. Rose son of Thomas and Martha died in 1864 Benjamin F.
