Dinwiddie County DATE: 1845 OWNERS: Mr. H.E. Jones (1937) DESCRIPTION: There is one large table tomb to be found in the burial place. All others have headstones. The graveyard is enclosed with an ornamental fence. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscriptions are to be found on the tombstones: Oh thou, with whom my heart was wont to share, From reason’s dawn, each pleasure and each care With whom alas, fondly hop’d to know The humble walks of happiness below If the blest nature now unites above An angel’s pity with a father’s love Still o’er my life preserve my mild control, Correct my views and elevate my soul. Mary Amanda Died 1861 Aged 17 years Susan Edmonia Died 1890 Aged 49 years Daughters of Lucy Osborne Field. Lucy Osborne Field, Daughter of Thomas Thweatt Wife of Theophilus A.
