Bissett/Dodson Indenture, 1790 - Dinwiddie Co. VA This indenture made the Twenty Second day of February Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred & Ninety between ALEXANDER BISSETT, son and heir at Law of ALEXANDER BISSETT of the Town of Petersburg deced., of one part and DANIEL DODSON of said Town of Petersburg of other part; Witnesseth that for the sum of One hundered and nine pounds Sixteen shillings & Eight pence current money paid by said DANIEL DODSON unto JAMES GILLIAM, one of the Legatees of THEOPHILUS FEILD late Merchant of the Town of Petersburg deced, which was due by the said ALEXANDER BISSETT(party hereto) in hand well and truly apid by DANIEL DODSON by these presents doth bargain & sell unto DANIEL DODSON his heirs one certain lott of land situated on High Street in Town of Petersburg distinguished in a platt of that part of the Town called New Petersburg laid out into lotts by PETER JONES deced by the number Twenty five(No.25) containing One acre be the same more or less; And all ways gardens pastures and appurtenances to said lott of land beloning; and the rents issues & services thereof; To have and to hold the lott or acre of land (No. 25) and all the appurtenances belonging to DANIEL DODSON his heirs free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever and ALEXANDER BISSETT for himself his heirs unto DANIEL DODSON his heirs shall and will forever warrant and defend by these presents; And the said DANIEL DODSON for the consideration aforesaid and for carrying into effect the conditions and purposes of a certain Indenture or conveyance of Bargain and Sale for THEOPHILUS FEILD, Son and Heir at Law of the within named THEOPHILUS FEILD deced., to said DANIEL DODSON duly executed and bearing date the twentieth day of July one thousand seven hundred & Eighty nine and for the further consideration of Five shillings current money in hand paid to said DANIEL by said ALEXANDER said DANIEL DODSON by these presents doth bargain and sell reconvey release and make over unto ALEXANDER BISSETT his heirs one certain lott or acre of land which was convyed to said DANIEL by THEOPHILUS FIELD and expressed in the Indenture hereinafter mentioned. And all houses and appurtenances and the rents issues and services thereof;To have and to hold the lott or acre of land and appurtenances unto ALLEXANDER BISSETT his heirs. In Witness whereof the parties hereto have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written. Sealed & Delivered in the presence of R. An Indenture of Bargain & Sale or Exchange between ALEXANDER BISSETT, Son and Heir at Law of ALEXANDER BISSETT late of the Town Petersburg deced., of oner part and DANIEL DODSON of the Town of Petersburg of the other part was proved by the Oaths of JOSEPH BADGER one of the witnesses thereto and the same having been before proved by the Oaths of JOHN R.
