Will of William H. Bailey, 1837 - Dinwiddie Co.VA. Will of William H. Bailey - 1837 (Will Book 2, page 116, Dinwiddie Co.VA.) In The Name of God Amen. I William H.Bailey of the County of Williamson and State of Tennessee being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, and in order to prevent disputes about the worldly goods with which I am blest after my deceas'd do order and ordain this my last will & Teastament in manner and form following. Item 1st, I direct that all my just debts be paid. Item 2d, I give to my two brothers John H.Bailey and Albert Bailey and to their heirs forever all of my estate both real and personal to be equally divided between them, except my interest in the dower right of my Mother in my Fathers Estate. Item 3rd, I give to my two half brothers Robert J.Grammer and Beverly T.Grammer at the death of my Mother, should they live to be of lawful age, half of my interest in the dower right alloted to my Mother from my Father William Bailey dec'd. estate, but should they not live to be of lawful age I then give it to John H.Bailey together with the other half of my interest in the above mentioned dower right of my Mother to them and their heirs forever. Lastly, I nominate my brother John H.Bailey Executor to this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th October 1836. Wm. H. This last Will and Testament of William H.Bailey deceased was proved by the oaths of Herbert Reese and Edward H.Allen subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of John H.Bailey executor therein named,who made oath thereto, and together with Herbert Reese his security entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of Ten thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate of the said will in due form.
