Will of William Burge Sr., 1830 - Dinwiddie Co.VA. Will of William Burge Sr. - 1830 (Will Book 1, page 48, Dinwiddie Co.VA.) In the name of God Amen. I William Burge Senr. of the County of Dinwiddie Va. being in sound mind and memory do hereby make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. Item 1st. It is my will and desire that all my just debts be first paid by my here after named executrix & executor by sale of such property as they may think best, the balance of my property to remain all together both real and personal during my wife Rebeckah's natural life, and at her death all the property as mentioned to be equally divided between five of my children namely Elizabeth, Nancy, Mary, Tod(?)H. and Daniel H. Burge to them and their heirs forever. Thomas Peterson and William Burge Junr. having already received their portions. Lastly, I do hereby nominate and appoint my wife Rebeckah and Daniel H. Burge my lawful Executrix and Executor to this my last Will and Testament, whereof I have hereunto affixed my hand and seal this eleventh day of October, eighteen hundred & thirty. Burge Executor therein named who made oath thereto, and together with Isaac Oliver and Jesse Spiers his securities, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of two thousand dollars, conditioned as the law directs, Certificate is granted him for obtaining a probat of the said Will in due form.
