Will of Peterson Haddon, 1832 - Dinwiddie Co.VA. Will of Peterson Haddon - 1832 (Will Book 1, page 128, Dinwiddie Co.VA.) In the name of God Amen. I Peterson Haddon of the County of Dinwiddie being in a low state of health,but of sound and perfect mind and memory and knowing that it is alloted for all men to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament revoking all others heretofore made by me in words and form as followeth. Item 1st. I wish to be burried in my own Garden by the side of Joshua E.Perkins. Item 2d. I wish all my just and lawful debts to be paid and after my just debts is paid I loan the whole of my estate both real and personal to my beloved wife Phoebe Haddon for and during her natural life, my shotgun excepted which gun I give to William H.Pegram to him his heirs and assigns forever and at the death of my said wife I give the whole of my estate both real and personal to my Grand Daughter Mary E.A.B. Perkins daughter of Joshua E. and Martha Perkins, provided my said Grand Daughter shall live to the age of twenty one years or leave lawful issue but should my said Grand Daughter die without bearing lawful issue I then give the whole of my said estate to my friend Col. William Wynn to him his heirs and assigns forever. Item 3d. I nominate and appoint my beloved wife executrix to this my last Will and Testament; In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17th day of June 1831. This last Will and Testament of Peterson Haddon dec'd. was proved by the oath of John W.Pegram and Robert W.Pegram subscribing witnesses and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Phoebe Haddon Executrix therein named, who made oath thereto, and together with John W.Pegram and Solomon Day her securities entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of $1400 conditioned as the law directs, Certificate is granted her for obtaining a probat of the said Will in due form, Teste J.P.
