I Sarah S. Meredith of County of Dinwiddie and State of Virginia, being afflicted in body but of sound mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows. First I l oan all my estate to my father Francis Meredith during his life. Secondly , after his death I loan one equal half of said estate and one equal half of any interest in both my Father and Mother's estates to my Sister Marg aret P. Caudle during her life, and then to infant son David F. Caudle pr ovided he survives to the age of twenty one, and if he should die before he arrives to that age, then the said legacy I give unto my sister Elizab eth W. Meredith and her children. Thirdly, I give the other equal half of the above named estate to my Sist er Elizabeth W. Meredith and her children forever. Fourthly and lastly, I do hereby constitute and ordain my sister Elizabe th W. Meredith Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all o ther will or wills heretofore made by me, as _____ my hand and seal this seventh day of April one thousand eight hundred and forty three. Meredith of the County of Dinwiddie and the State of Virg inia, make this to be my last will and testament, as follows, that is to say First I give to my daughter Mary E. Maitland, wife of Robert Maitland, de c., my half of land on which I now reside in the County of Dinwiddie, con taing about two hundred acres, more or less. Second, I give to my granddaughter Mary Jane Cabaness, daughter of James M. Cabaness and Martha D. Cabaness, one bed and bedding. Third, I give to my daughter, Caroline A. Rainey, wife of Frank A. Rainey , one bureau and mirror, one bed and bedding and one chest. Fourth, after the payment of the above mentioned legacies and my debts an d funeral expenses, all the rest and _______ of my estate of every charac ter whatsoever, real and personal, I give to my daughter Mary E.
