Dinwiddie Co., VA Miscellaneous Wills Will of William H.Bailey (Will Book 2, page 116, Dinwiddie Co.VA.) In The Name of God Amen. I William H.Bailey of the County of Williamson and State of Tennessee being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, and in order to prevent disputes about the worldly goods with which I am blest after my deceas'd do order and ordain this my last will & Teastament in manner and form following. Item 1st, I direct that all my just debts be paid. Item 2d, I give to my two brothers John H.Bailey and Albert Bailey and to their heirs forever all of my estate both real and personal to be equally divided between them, except my interest in the dower right of my Mother in my Fathers Estate. Item 3rd, I give to my two half brothers Robert J.Grammer and Beverly T.Grammer at the death of my Mother, should they live to be of lawful age, half of my interest in the dower right alloted to my Mother from my Father William Bailey dec'd. estate, but should they not live to be of lawful age I then give it to John H.Bailey together with the other half of my interest in the above mentioned dower right of my Mother to them and their heirs forever. I Samuel Griffin of the County of Dinwiddie and state of Virginia, being in a low state of health, but of perfect soundness of mind and a disposing memory, knowing the uncertainty of life, and certainty of death, do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament. (viz:) Item 1st I wish all my just debts to be punctually paid,and the balance of my estate of every description both real and personal, I loan unto my beloved wife Winnefred Griffin during her natural life, for her to support herself and family on, in the way she may think best calculated to advance her own comfort and interest of the estate. Item 2nd After the death of my beloved wife Winefred Griffin I wish all my estate both real and personal of every description as above named to be sold and the proceeds thereof to be distributed in the following manner (viz:), I give unto my son Nelson L.Griffin one hundred dollars out of the proceeds of my estate, to him and his heirs forever. Item 3rd I give and bequeath unto my four daughters Sarah H.Griffin, Mahala Griffin, Mary Griffin, and Joan Winefred Griffin the whole of my estate or the proceeds thereof, both real and personal of every description after the death of my beloved wife Winefred Griffin, and also paying and satisfying the above mentioned one hundred dollars to my son Nelson L.Griffin, to them and their heirs forever, share and share alike.I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Winefred Griffin executrix to this my last Will and Testament, and wish no inventory and appraisement of my estate and also wish the County Court of Dinwiddie to require no security for her administration, hereby revoking and cancelling all wills heretofore made by me, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. I Rice Eanes of the County of Dinwiddie and state of Virginia, being of sound mind and memory, do make this my last Will and Testament,revoking all others. Firstly it is my desire for all my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid. Item, I lend to my wife Frances V.Eanes one hundred and fifty acres of land which is improved together with all my household and kitchen furniture, with the exception of one feather Bed and furniture, Stock of all kind and plantation utinsels during her natural life then the said land to be equally divided between my two sons Winfield Jackson and Rice Eanes to them and their heirs forever. Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth F.Still Seventy five acres of land together with one Feather Bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever. Item I give to my other three children Eppes William D. and Richard T. Eanes, the balance of my land to be equally divided, to them and their heirs forever. Item I give to my son Richard T.Eanes a sufficiency of what I have loaned my wife Frances V.Eanes to board him until he becomes of age or may think proper to get his own support. I Peterson Haddon of the County of Dinwiddie being in a low state of health,but of sound and perfect mind and memory and knowing that it is alloted for all men to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament revoking all others heretofore made by me in words and form as followeth. Item 1st. I wish to be burried in my own Garden by the side of Joshua E.Perkins. Item 2d. I wish all my just and lawful debts to be paid and after my just debts is paid I loan the whole of my estate both real and personal to my beloved wife Phoebe Haddon for and during her natural life, my shotgun excepted which gun I give to William H.Pegram to him his heirs and assigns forever and at the death of my said wife I give the whole of my estate both real and personal to my Grand Daughter Mary E.A.B. Perkins daughter of Joshua E. and Martha Perkins, provided my said Grand Daughter shall live to the age of twenty one years or leave lawful issue but should my said Grand Daughter die without bearing lawful issue I then give the whole of my said estate to my friend Col. William Wynn to him his heirs and assigns forever. Item 3d. I Elijah Minge of Dinwiddie County, State of Virginia being in a low state of health but of sound mind and perfect memory and knowing that it is once appointed for man to die and wishing to dispose of my property do ordain this my last Will and Testament after all my just debts and funeral expences is paid, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Eliza D.Minge and her two children namely Richard James Mingge and Salley Ann Mingge all my estate that I may possess at my death, except my negro woman Vicey my wish and desire is that my said negro woman Vicey be sold to the best advantage and the money to be applied to the use of my wife and children above named to them and their heirs forever. It is my wish and desire that my friend Robert H.Davis shall be my hole and sole Executor to my Will and that my said friend Robert H.Davis shall sell buy or make any contract that he may think most benifitial for my wife and children, as witness my hand & seal this day and date December 29th 1831. I Daniel Lamb of the County of Dinwiddie and State of Virginia, do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all former Wills made by me. First, after all my just debts are paid I give to my son Robert Thomas Lamb one Mahogany Sideboard and one Mahogany Secretary desk to him and his heirs forever. Secondly, I lend to my wife Jane S.Lamb during her natural life, all the rest of my estate of what nature or kind soever it may be, not herein particularly disposed of, and after her death, I give the same to my daughter Mary Jane Lamb to her and her heirs forever. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my friend William Boisseau executor of this my last will and testament. And at another Court held for the said County on the 18th day of October 1830, This Will was further and fully proved by the oath of William E.Boisseau Jr. another subscribing witness and ordered to be recorded. William Boisseau the executor named personally appeared in Court and renounced his right to qualify as such which is ordered to be entered of record. And on the motion of James H. Boisseau who made oath, and together with William Boisseau his security entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $2000 conditioned as the law directs Certificate is granted the said James H. Boisseau for obtaining letters of administration on the decedants estate with his will annexed in due form . It is my will and desire that all my just debts be first paid by my here after named executrix & executor by sale of such property as they may think best, the balance of my property to remain all together both real and personal during my wife Rebeckah's natural life, and at her death all the property as mentioned to be equally divided between five of my children namely Elizabeth, Nancy, Mary, Tod(?)H. and Daniel H.Burge to them and their heirs forever.
