Allen/Allen Indenture, 1768 - Essex Co. VA Deed Book 30, page 203 Elizabeth Allen widow of John Allen Indenture. 3 November, 1768 This Indenture made the third day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty eight between Elizabeth Allen widow of John Allen of the County of Essex deceased of the one part and Henry Allen of the same County of the other part witnesseth that the said Elizabeth as well for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which sharing hath and beareth to the said Henry her son as also for the better maintainance and preferment of the said Henry hath given granted aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant alien and confirm unto the said Henry all the right and Title of donor which the said Elizabeth hath or claimeth of in or to the Tract Plantation Lands and premises whereon the said Henry now dwells...... lying and being in the Parish of South Farnham and in county aforesaid to have and to hold said tract of land and premises with the appurtenances unto the said Henry Allen his heirs and assigns to their only proper use and behoof and so no other use intent or purpose whatsoever.
