Witnesseth that whereas William Dunn late of the said County of Essex by his last Will and Testament devised the Land whereon he lived to his son William Dunn to be delivered at the death of his wife the said Winifred and his slaves to his Son Henry and his daughter Alice also to be delivered at the death of the said Winifred and whereas it is supposed the said Land and Slaves will descend to the said Waters Dunn as oldest son and heir at Law of the said William Dunn deceased during the life of the said Winifred whereby the said Winifred would be left unprovided for and whereas the said Winifred hath assigned and made over to the said Waters Dunn all her right title interest and property which she hath or may claim of in or to sundry lands and slaves under the Will of John Waters her Father and the said Waters Dunn is moreover willing and desirous to make necessary provision for the support of his said Mother(.) Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Waters Dunn for and in consideration of the premises as also for and in consideration of the Sum of Five Shillings Current money to him in hand paid by the said Winifred Dunn hath given granted assigned made over released and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant assign make over release and confirm unto the said Winifred Dunn all the right Title Interest claim property or demand whatsoever of him the said Waters Dunn as son and heir at law of him the said William Dunn deceased of in or to the Tract of Land and appurtenances in the County of Essex where the said William Dunn lately lived and whereof he died seised and also of in or to the several slaves and other estate so as aforesaid by the said William Dunn deceased devised to the said Henry and Alice Dunn at the death of the said Winifred(.) To have and to hold the said Land and Slaves to the said Winifred Dunn during her natural life to and for the use of her the said Winifred Dunn during her natural life(.) In Witness whereof the said Waters Dunn hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year aforesaid. Sealed and delivered in presence of Waters Dunn (L.S.) J. Edmondson Jas. At a Court held for Essex County at Rappahannock on the 16th day of November 1767, Waters Dunn acknowledged this deed Indented to Winifred Dunn on whose motion it is ordered to be recorded.
