Francis Nicholson Esq. Governor &c with the advice of & consent of the Council of state accordingly give & grant unto Thomas Dunn four hundred forty eight acres of land lying on the south side of Purcation Creek in Essex County formerly part of Rappahanock County Beginning at a marked pohiccory standing by or nigh adjoyning to ______ ______ of Francis Brown &c bounding its dominition for ________ then South South East fifty six chains by a line marked so as dividing this land & c a parcell of land belonging to &c in the possession of one Thomas Harper to a marked corner red oak thence by & along the land of Samuel Perry South South West Three hundred & twenty chains doubling its length in the named woods towards The Great Swamp thence back again over severall branches of the sd. Swamp W of & North W of & parallel to the first line. And finally North North East unto the tree where this land began. The sd. land being formerly granted unto John Sourrett(?) & James Fullerton(?) by the aforesaid and since granted unto Robert Davis by persons &c the 22d September 1664 and by him aforesd and now granted unto the sd Thomas Dunn by an order of the Governing Court proceeding(?). Dated the 25 of October 1698. And is further due unto the said Thomas Dunn by & for the transportation of persons into this Colony whose names are to be in the records mentioned and or this person. To have and to hold &c To be held &c yeilding & paying &c provided &c given under my hand & the seal of the Colony. This sixth day of June 1699. F. Fr.
