Will of Patrick Donohoe, 1747 - Essex County, Virginia April 1747 In the name of God amen I Patrick Donhoe of Essex Co. in Virginia being weak in body but in sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament as follows Imp . . . I recommend my soul to God that gave it and my body to the earth from whence it came in hopes of a joyfull resurrection to life ___ at the last day and as for my worldly estate as it hath pleased God too bless me with I dispose of the same as followeth (after my due and just debts are satisfied, I lend to my Loving wife Elizabeth during her natural life a third part of all my land and other my estate, both real and personall except one Negro boy called Dick which I give to Eleanor the wife of Cornelius Noell and one Cow and Calf I give to my Grandson Edward Noell, sone of the said Cornelius Noell . . . all my wearing apparel and two ____armes I give to my son Edward Donohoe and also I give to my son Edward one third part of all my estate both real and personal to him and his heirs forever and ______third part of my estate both real and personal I give and bequeath to my Daughter Millard Ferguson and her heirs forever and further my will is that all my Negros and other estate (except the boy Dick which I have given away) be and continue ___wifes to work for her during her natural life if she doth not marry after my decease and if she doth marry then immediately the said Negroes to be divided as above is mentioned and lastly I ordain and appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth my executrix of this my last will and testament In Testimony whereof unto Sett my hand and office my seal the ___day of April 1747.
