Morton Cemetery Location: It is located in what is now Fairfax County, perhaps not half a mile from the site of Colchester, Virginia, and is said to be the site of Colchester Cemetery. Fairfax County DATE: 1766. OWNERS: It is on the property now owned by the estate of a man named Shick. (1938) In the early 80’s it was owned by Potter Trice. DESCRIPTION: Until a few years ago numerous stones were here, but they have been removed. It was at one time known as the “Indian Graveyard”. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The following inscription is taken from a single stone that is at the present time resting against a tree.
