FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA - WILL AND ESTATE - Jean Heryford, 24 Mar 1754 ----¤¤¤---- In the name of God Amen I Jean Heryford of the parish of Truro & County of Fairfax being at this time Sick & weak of body yet of sound and perfect mind & disposing memmory (sic) blessed be God, therefore do commit my body to the Earth to be disposed of according to the Discretion of my frinds (sic) and my Soul to God in full and perfect hopes of a blessed Resurrection thro' Jesus Christ hoping pardon of my offences I make the following disposition of my worldy Effects VIZ. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my Son John Herriford on large Chist one large Glass one Large Table & one Cart & Wheles (sic) - ITEM I give and bequeath unto my son Henery Herriford one Negro Woman Named Phillis & her Incres (sic) to him and his hears (sic) forever Acordis to his Fathers Will ITEM I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Frances one Negro Man Named bob to her & her heairs (sic) for Ever ITEM I give unto Son George Hereyford one small Table & one small Chist & my two plow horses ITEM I give unto my Daughter Ann Teyler thirty shillins ITEM I give & bequeath unto my Daughter Margrett my side Saddle ITEM my Will and desier is that the Remainders of my estate of what Kind Soever (that is not already given away) may be equally devided between my two Sons George and Henery Herriford & my Daughter Frances Herriford and this I do publish to be my last Will and testament & that my two Sones John & George Herriford I opint to be Executors of this my last Will and testament In Witness thereof I have heare unto set my hand and fixed my seal this 24th of march 1754 In presents of us Jean D Heryford Burr Harrisson William Peake William W. More his mark At a Court Contd. and held for the County of Fairfax 16 & 17th of April 1754 This Will was presented in court by John Herryford and George Herryford Exr. therein named who made oath thereto and the same being proved by the oaths of William Peake & William Moore two of the Witnesses and is admitted to record and the said Exr. having performed what is usual in such Cases is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in due form Test.
