(NOTE: The Henry Bible Record was apparently commenced by Joel Henry, who died in March 
1847, and continued by Fountain Fisher Henry, who died September 10, 1860.  His eldest 
daughter, Susan Camm Bell, nee Henry, inherited the Bible and made entries until her death, 
November 17, 1881.  After her death, entries seem to have been made by various other Henry 
descendants, but the record is not complete as to all of the descendants of Fountain F. And Sarah 
Henry, my great-grandparents.  After the marriages of the children of my greatgrandfather, 
Fountain F. Henry, the various children kept their own family records.  It might be of interest to 
state that the wife of the original George Henry was a Lydia Wheatley, of Fauquier county.  The 
wife of Joel Henry, who is given in the record as Susana Henry, was Susana Allen, of Fauquier, 
and the wife of Fountain F. Henry was Sarah Dudley Jeffries, of Culpeper.  I have also been 
advised, by a descendant of George Henry and Lydia Wheatley, that the original George had a 
daughter named Priscilla, who married John Boldridge, of Culpeper, and that other daughters, 
whose names are not known, married into the Duncan, Butler, Goulden, and Mosinger families.  
It is also thought that Joel Henry had several sons, one of whom emigrated to Kentucky.  The 
Culpeper county records show that Bushrod Henry, son of Joel, married Elizabeth Hudson, June 
12, 1826 and that his brother, Beverly Henry, married Frances Fox_______?, 1829.)
