D. Gore Cemetery Location: 5 miles S.E. of Remington on Route #751. About 100 yards S. of Rt. #751 and perhaps 200 yards east of Brown’s Run. Fauquier County The graveyard is about 100 yards west of Belcoir. The fence is about gone and livestock overrun the spot. Following are some of the inscriptions: In memory of James H. Jameson Son of Enoch & Frances E. Jameson who departed this life September 20 A.D. 1861 aged 47 years 3 months & 14 days In memory of Sarah Ann wife of G.T. Wheatley & daughter of ... Taylor born ... 1804 died 23 ... 1835(?) (This tombstone is of very white marble and is badly broken. The lower part is pitted as if eaten by acid) In Memory of George T. Wheatley Born January 28, 1803 Died May 19, 1877 Our dear Mother Catherine P. wife of George T. Wheatley daughter of Mandly & Catharine Taylor Born Nov. 12, 1807 Died March 31st, 1842 A reddish field stone has I. (or J.) Wheatley crudely carved on the top.
