D. Gore Cemetery Location: 8.5 miles southwest of Warrenton, Virginia. From Opal 1.5 miles west on Route #687; thence southwest 2 miles on Route #651; thence 160 yards northwest on private road. Fauquier County Some 500 yards southwest of the house is an old graveyard in which is a small lot enclosed by a rock wall about 15 feet square. In this lot we find a tombstone with the following inscription: Mary W. Richards was born the 18th day of July 1825 departed this life on the 9th day of September 1854 My only child Her mortal part rests here Beneath this grassy sod Her soul we trust is with her God, Her memory still is dear.
