Fauquier County, Virginia - Soldiers in the Revolution File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Jim Burgess. The following information has been typed from: Fauquier County, Virginia 1759-1959 published by the Fauquier County Bicentennial Committee, Warrenton, Virginia. C opyright 1959 by the Fauquier County Bicentennial Committee and the Board of Supervisors, County of Fauquier. Printed in the United States of America at Warrenton, County of Fauquier, Commonwealth of Virginia. pp 308-314. The following names of Revolutionary War Soldiers were compiled from photostatic copies of the original muster rolls and pension declarations in the National Archives and the Archives of the Virginia State Library. The majority of the names, however, have been taken from the Minute Books of Fauquier County, especially the Minutes for the years 1773-1780 and 1781-1784. A Complete list of these was made by the late Sadie Bartenstein, Deputy Clerk of the Court from 1927 until her death in 1956. Except for a few instances where names were almost unreadable no freedom has been exercised. Therefore the names in this list are spelled as the appeared in the original source. To conserve space here there is no indication of the rank held by the individual soldier. -A- Ash, Francis Adams, Littleton Attwell, Francis Ashby, Nimrod Ashby, Lewis Ashby, John Jr., Adams, Nancy (wife of soldier) Anderson, John Ammon, Ann (wife of soldier) Armstrong, George Allison, (Capt.)
