Called into service in Fauquier county and after the service lived there until 1790 when he moved to Hampshire county Virginia. Some witnesses he listed that knew he was a soldier in the Revolution were Isaac Welch sen, William Welch, Thomas Dye sen , Samuel B Davis sen, Jacob Doll, Thomas Jones, John Cundiff sen and Henry Siller sen. He enlisted in August 1775 in Fauquier co VA: three months in Capt James Scott's company; from Nov 1775, four months in Capt John Chilton's company was at the battle of Great Bridge; from sometime in Aug 1776, three months in Captain Elias Edmund's company, stationed at Williamsburg; from sometime in March 1781 three months in Capt John T Chunn's company and was wounded at Williamsburg. No references made to Wife and children. He signed his own name in three documents as Siars Hamrick. (all three docs in Hampshire co court)
