I David Wickliffe of the county of Fauquier and State of Virginia do make and declare this to be my last will and testament viz. 1st I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaretta Susan Wickliffe, my slaves WINNEY, CAROLINE, and JACOB, to her and her heirs forever. 2d I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Ann WICKLIFFE my slaves CHARLOTTE, ELIZABETH, CARTER , to her and her heirs forever. 3d I give and bequeath to my daughter Mildred Sarah WICKLIFFE my slaves AMANDA, commonly called PUSS, MOLLY and DICK, to her and her heirs forever. 4. I give and bequeath to my son Andrew Jackson WICKLIFFE my slaves VIRGINIA and JOSEPH to him and his heirs forever. 5th I give and bequeath to my son Robert Horace WICKLIFFE my slaves BILLY and JAMES, to him and his heirs forever. 6. I give and bequeath to my son Leonard Kinnick WICKLIFFE, my slave HARRISON to him and his heirs forever. As the slave property herein devised to my daughters exceed in value that given to my sons, it is my will and desire that my executors here in after named shall sell my land devised to me by my father, and out of the money arising from such sale, to pay to my sons or either of them proportionably a sum sufficient to supply or make up to them the difference in value between the slave property devised to my sons and that devised to my daughters, and to divide the surplus if any, of the money arising from the sale of my land equally among all of my children. But, if the money arising from the sale of my land and perishable property be not sufficient to supply or make up that difference to them, then in that event, I desire that any further sum that may be necessary for that purpose, may be raised out of the future increase of the female slaves devised to my daughters proportionably, all the balance of my estate of whatever nature or kind it may be, I desire to be equally divided among all my children. Finally I desire that all my just debts may be paid, and do hereby constitute, nominate and appoint my friends Seth COMBS and Kinnick (or Kenrick) Enes COMBS executors of this my last will and testament.
