Hannum Cemetery Location: 1.7 miles north of Kents Store, Virginia, on Route #614, thence east 1.1 miles on country road (no number), thence south .35 miles to house. Fluvanna County DATE: About 1823. OWNERS: David Shepherd to T. S. Shepherd, 1850 T. S. Shepherd to Shandy Shepherd (date unknown) Shandy Shepherd to T.O. Harvey about 1905 T. P. Harvey to M.W. Perkins 1932 DESCRIPTION: The Shepherd family cemetery is to the south of the house about a quarter of a mile. It is sixty by sixty feet and is enclosed with a stone wall four feet six inches high and eighteen inches thick. All of the stone work is cut and fitted, and the gate-way has two heavy wrought iron gates. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The markers are as follows: David Shepherd Born June 19th 1760 Died March 20th, 1823 John Morton Shepherd Born Jan. 9th 1834 Died Aug. 15th 1856 Polly Banket wife of David Shepherd Born June 11th 1770 Died May 13th 1849 There are several other graves but no markers.
