George the third &.c  To all &.c  Know ye that for divers good causes & 
Considerations but more especially for and in Consideration of the Sum 
of Twenty five Shillings of good and lawful money for our use paid 
to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and 
Dominion of Virginia  We have given granted and confirmed and by 
these presents for us our heirs and Sucessors Do give grant and confirm 
unto Benjamin Thacker one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing 
two hundred and twenty three acres lying and being in the County of 
Albemarle and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning, at pointers 
on Abra'm Venable and running thence North fifty four degrees ~ 
West two hundred and fifty two Poles to a Pine thence North thirty 
degrees West sixty eight Poles to Pointers thence South thirty degrees 
West one hundred and fourteen Poles to Pointers thence on Francis 
Baker South forty degrees East two hundred and seventy one Poles 
to a corner hickory thence. North fifty three degrees East ninety four 
Poles to a white Oak running thence North forty six degrees East ~ 
sixty two Poles to the Beginning  With all &.c  To have hold &.c  To be ~ 
held &.c  Yielding and Paying &.c  Provided &.c  In Witness &.c 
Witness our trusty and Welbeloved Norborne. Baron de Botetourt our 
Lieutenant and Governour General of our said Colony and Dominion 
at Williamsburg under the Seal of our said Colony the twelfth day 
of May one thousand seven hundred and seventy in the tenth year 
of our Reign.

 in 1777 is shown by a deed from Benjamin & wife to Alexander TONEY for £100, 
 24 Dec 1777 {rec: May 1779} for 223 acres adjoining Abraham VENABLE, Thomas 
 BAKER, & Francis BAKER (Fluvanna Co. Deed Book 1, p. 60).]
