of Virginia, to all to whom these presents shall come Greeting 
Know ye that in Consideration of the Ancient Composition 
of one pound five Shillings Sterling paid by Benjamin 
THACKER into the treasury of this Commonwealth there is 
Granted by the Said Commonwealth unto the Said 
Benjamin THACKER a Certain tract or parcel of Land

Containing Two hundred and fifty two Acres by Survey bearing 
date the twentieth day of March one thousand Seven hundred and 
Seventy eight lying and being in the County of Fluvanna on 
the Waters of the bold branch and bounded as followeth, to wit, 
Beginning at BETHEL and ASKEW's ["Askews"] Corner of Several marked 
Pines on a ridge thence with ASKEW's line North fifty Six 
and a half degrees West Seventy poles to his Corner pine n['-ear'; cropped] 
a branch Side thence on ASKEW's line North one half deg[-'ree'] 
east Crossing Bens branch one hundred and twenty five 
poles to a white Oak Saplin the Said ASKEW's TAYLOR's ["Taylors"] Corn['-er'] 
on a hill Side thence on TAYLOR's line North forty five deg[-'rees'] 
east one hundred and one poles to TAYLOR's Corner red oak 
Saplin thence with the Said TAYLOR's line North forty fo['-ur']
