Deed of Land from Edmund Humphrey to Harrison Humphrey

"To all to whom these presents shall come, know ye that I Edmund Humphrey of the
County of Fluvanna, for and In consideration of the Love and affection that I
have and do bare for my son Harrison Humphrey of thes.d county, do Give grant
and confirm by these presence unto the above named Harrison Humphrey and to his
Heirs and assigns forever, One certain tract or parcel of land in the County
afores.d containing by Estimation One hundred acres (be the same more or less)
being the upper part of the land I live on, cituated on Cumminghams Creek
joining the lands of Ducan Mclauchlan, Daniel grubs and my self, bounded by a
line from the Creek to the back line on Daniel grubs, with appertenance
thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. I thes.d Edm.d Humphrey do
hereby warrant forever defend a good and lawful right and title In fee simple to
thesaid land premisses to him thesaid Harrison Humphrey and his heirs and
assigns forever, against the Claim or demand of all and every person claiming
under me; In witness whereof I thesaid Edm.d Humphrey have here unto set my hand
and affix my seal this tenth day of may 179eight. Edmund (his mark "A") Humphrey

Humphrey At a Court held for Fluvanna County on Thursday the 6th day of
September 1798. This deed was this day in open Court proved to be the act of
Edmund Humphrey a party thereto by the Oaths of Joseph Barnerd, Aron Thomasson
and Bartlett Humphrey the Witnesses there to and ordered to be recorded
