INDENTURE OCT 1830

This Indenture made and entered into this sixteenth day of October one
thousand eight hundred and thirty between Edward Lowry, Polly his wife, and
James Lowry of the one part, and John Duval and Charles Cocke of the other
part.  Witnesseth:  that the said Edward Lowry, Polly his wife, and James
Lowry for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy five
dollars in had paid by the said John Duval and Charles Cocke at and before
the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged.  They the said Edward Lowry, Polly his wife, and James Lowry
have bargained, sold and conveyed unto the said John Duval and Charls Cocke,
one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Goochland County
containing thirty two acres and three quarters, it being part of the land
belonging to Joel Lowry, dec'd and which part lies on the North East end of
said tract whereon the said James Lowry resided adjoing the lands of William
Southworth, the widow Smith and others.  To have and to hold the before
granted land and premises unto the said John Duval and Charles Cocke their
heirs, Executors, administrators and assigns forever.  And the said Edward
Lowry, Polly his wife, and James Lowry for themselves, their heirs Executors
and assigns, the before granted land and premises unto the s'd John Duval
and Charles Cocke their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns free
from the claim or claims of any person or persons claiming by from or under
them, or either of them, and against the claims of all other persons
whatsoever will warrant and forever defend.  In Witness whereof the said
Edward Lowry, Polly his wife and James Lowry have hereunto set their hand
and affixed their seals the day and year above written.

Fluvanna County, to wit:
We D.W.K. Bowles and L. Weaver, justices of the peace in the County
aforesaid in the State of Virginia, do hereby certify that Edward Lowry and
James Lowry parties to the within deed bearing date the 16 day of October
1830 thereto annexed personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid
and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed and desired to us to
certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County Court of
Goochland in order that the said deed may be recorded.  Given under our
hands and searls this 16 day of October 1830.             /s/ Littleberry

Fluvanna County, to wit:
We D.W.K. Bowles and L. Weaver, Justices of the peace in the county
aforesaid, in the State of Virginia, do hereby certify that Polly Lowry,
wife of Edward Lowry, parties to the within deed bearing date the 16 day of
October 1830 and hereunto annexed personally appeared before us in our
County aforesaid, and being examined by us privily and apart from her
husband and having the deed aforesaid full explained to her, she the said
Polly Lowry acknowledged the same to be her act and deed, and declared that
she had willingly signed, sealed and delivered the same, and that she wished
not to retract it.  Given under our hands and seals this 16 day of October

At a Court held for Goochland County 15th October 1832, This Indenture was
presented in Court and with the certificates thereon, ordered to be
