John Bashaw of said county, aged about 60, declares he entered service in 1776 or 1777 in the company of artillery of Capt. William Pierce in the regiment of Co. Charles Harrison and served three years. 29 Aug. 1820. Fluvanna Co., Va. John Bashaw of said county, aged 65, makes a similar statement of his service. He owns two horses, twelve head of cattle, 13 sheep, 14 hogs, two chests, cupboard, pine table, half dozen knives and forks, two pewter dishes, half dozen pewter plates, three ploughs and gear, five hoes, four axes, cart, three pots and hooks, two ovens and a half dozen cups and saucers. He is a farmer and planter. His family consisits of his wife aged about 60, son aged about 19, daughters aged about 17 and 14, and boy related to his wife aged about 10. John Bashaw of Fluvanna Co., Va., private in the regiment of Col. Harrison in the Virginia line for three years, was placed on the Virginia pension roll at $8 per month under the Act of 1818 from 28 May 1818. Certificate 15910 was issued 27 Nov. 1819.
