I Reuben Hughes being sick and weak but of sound sense & memory do constitute this my last will & testament in manner & form following. Item I desire that my body may be decently buried by my executors & as to my worldly possessions I dispose of as follows. Item I lend unto my beloved wife Mary my whole property real & personal during her life & at her death I will and desire it may be disposed of as follows. Item I give unto my son Reuben all the land on the side of the road whereon he now resides with an addition of the land on this side of the road from the lower line up to the old field running as the path to the bridge now does, to James Quarles line, in consideration of which he my son Reuben to be at one half of the expense of supporting my daughter Rachael after her mothers death as long as she lives. Item I give unto my son Hopkins the balance of my land on this side, the road whereon I now live which said land I give unto my said sons Reuben & Hopkins to them and their heirs forever, in consideration of my son Hopkins being at one half of the expense in supporting my daughter Rachael during hr life after his mothers death. Item all the remainder of my property of what nature soever I request may be equally divided by sale or otherewise, amongst my three daughters, Nancy, & Mary to them and their Heirs forever; the intent and meaning of the above is to the support of Rachael is to commence after the death of her mother. And lastly I do appoint my wife Mary executrix and my friend Major John Quarles Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16th day of January 1813. This will was this day produces in court and proved by the affirmation of Elizabeth Lily a witness thereto And examined At a Court of Quarterly Session held for the said County on Monday the 28th day of Jun 1813 This Will was again this day produced in Court and further proved by the oath of Samuel Lilly another witness thereto and ordered to be recorded.
