Will of Edward Humphrey In the name of God Amen I Edward Humphrey of Fluvanna County being at present Ill and week of Body but perfect and sound of mind and memory and knowing it is ____ for Man to Die I desire to settle my worldly afairs in and amongst my family. I therefore divide and dispose of my estate that the Lord has ben plesed to bless me with in manner and forms afollows. And first of all I desire to be Buried in a christian like maner and that all my lawful debts shall bee paid and of my estate. Item then I give to my daughter Elesebath Taylor one shilling besides her portian? I have already given her. Item I give to my daughter Faney Roberson one shilling besides the portian I have all ready given her ___ give to my daughter Youncey? Thacker one shilling besides the portian I have I have allready given her. Item I give to my son Elijah Humphrey one hundred acres of Land. Item I give to my dauger Mathe Jones one fether bead after her father and Mother depart? and in the same ____ one small pot or detch oven, one pewter Bason and Plate. Item give to my daughter Lucyan Humphrey one fether bead, one small pot or a detch oven, one Pewter Bason , one plate,, Item I give to my son William Humphrey the hundred acres of land on which I now live. Item all the rest of my estate I give to my well beloved wife during her naturel life then what of my estate is left shall go to my son William Humphrey except one cow that I give to my daughter Lucyan Humphrey. I do ordain and constitute Ezekiah Hallon and William Basket the Executors of my estate given under my hand this twenty eaght day of Sept 1784. And At a Court of Monthly Session held for the said County on Monday the 26 day of July 1813 this Will was again produced in Court and proved by the oath of William Baskett another witness thereto (he theretofore having refused to qualify as Executor) and ordered to be recorded. Time is allowed the other Executor therein named to Qualify thereto. and At a Court of monthly sessions held for the said County of Fluvanna on Monday the 25th day of October 1813. This will was this day again produced? in Court and the other Executor therein named having refused to Qualify thereto. On the motion of the William Humphrey who made oath thereto as the law directs and entered into and acknowledged Bond with Guthrie Mouns? his Security in the penalty of five hundred dollars _________ as the law directs certificate is granted him for attaining _____ in this estate with the will annexed ______ Teste.
