There are three cemeteries very close together here (one beside the church, a Wingfield cemetery to the immediate right front on a gravel road (about 400 yards off the main road), and the Rice Cemetery is in a field before and to the right of the Wingfield cemetery. Description: The field containing the cemetery is still used for farming. If you visit during the farming season, you cannot see the cemetery because the crop height conceals it. There is no fence around the cemetery and the field is planted a full 360 degrees around the cemetery. A Rice family grandson (Mr. Stegall) takes care of the cemetery but he does not mow it during the crop season because you can't get a mower to the cemetery. In the fall and spring, Mr. Stegall keeps grass trimmed. You should stop by Mr. Stegall's home to ask permission before going to the cemetery. He lives in a brick house on the right side of the road just before you get to the church (nice entry way leading to a brick ranch style home on a small hill). -------- Graves: T.E. Rice (Thomas Edward "Tom" Rice), 10/4/1858-8/10/1931 Anna L. Rice (Anna Lee Lawrence Rice), 5/28/1870-2/25/1960. (Tom's wife) P.C. Lawrence (Peter Cain Lawrence), 1/15/1873-2/4/1905.
