Taken before Henry Carper & John Wade Jr. Justices of the Peace for the County of Franklin. To be read as evidence in the county court of Chancery --- for the county of Franklin Between Meshack Purdue Adm of Daniel Purdue Decd Plaintiff and Daniel Ward Jr Deft. After being first sworn of the Holy Evangelist of Admighty God Depondent and saith that he well knows that fifteen or seventeen years a go that Daniel Ward Jr. Abscounded from this county and left his family and never returned but once and then stain (stayed0 but a few days and I do not think that the said Meshack Purdue had any chance to make this money out of him until now and this Depondent furthat saith not.
