All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ==================================================================== Franklin County, VA Deed Book 3 page 544 This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of January in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight and of the CommonWealth the twenty second between Isham Belcher of the County of Wythe of the one partie and Israel Evans of the County of Franklin of the other part Witnefsneth that the Belcher for an inconsideration of the sum of one Hundred Pounds Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he the said Belcher doath hereby acknowledge healh Bargained and sold unto the said Evans one Certain tract or Parcel of Land Lying and being in the County of Franklin and on the south side of Black water River containing one hundred and fifty Acres be the same more or lefs and bounded as followith to wits; Beginning at pointers Samuel Gelbert's line on the said River - thence his Line south five degrees. East twenty two poles to pointers thence along said Line to a maple branch thence up the said branch as it meanders to the Original line thence along said Line to a Red Oak thence north forty degrees Est one hundred and fifty six poles to a Spanish Oak thence to the north Est fork of the Cannco branch and down the said branch to Black water thence up the said River as it meanders to the beginning with all Woods Waters houses orchards and all other Profits appertaining to the said tract of Land to the only use of him the said Evans his heirs and assigns forever and I the said Belcher do warrant and forever defend the said tract of Land to the said Evans against me my heirs and; Every of them or any other Person or Persons forever Clear of all encumbrances in Witnefs whereof I the said Belcher have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day and year above Written.
