Belcher from Swinney: - page 81 Know all men by these Presents that I Joseph Swinney of the County of Franklin and State of Virginia for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid before the writing signing and delivery of these Presents doth give grant bargain sell & confirm to Francis Belcher of the County and State aforesaid all my right title claim and interest in the Estate of the late Francis Belcher (dec) consisting of negros Horses Hogs & cattle household & kitchen furniture of every description, plantation utensils [do] as well as every other species of property whatsoever. Which Sd. property with its increase, profits [do] I do hereby relinquish to the only use benefit of the said Francis Belcher provided. Nevertheless that the said Francis Belcher shall provide the Sd. Swinney with a house & home during Sd. Swinneys life with also such other conveniences as are reasonable and Necessary. In Witness whereof the Sd. Joseph Swinney hath hereunto set his hand and Seal this 19th March 1807. Joseph Swinney Signed, Sealed and Acknowledged in the presence of : John Cook; Thomas Dunn} At a district court held at Franklin Courthouse the 20th day of April 1807 This Bill of Sale from Joseph Swinney to Francis Belcher was proved by the oath of John Cook one of the witnesses hereto and at a District Court held at Franklin Courthouse the 21st day of Sept 1807 the same Bill of Sale was furthur proved by the Oath of Thomas Dunn another witness and was ordered to be recorded.
