All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Janet King JPerdue192@aol.com March 11, 2009, 12:53 pm Franklin Co., Virginia Written: October 10, 1809 Recorded: January 26, 1810 Meshack Perdue 205 acres Franklin John Tyler, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, To all to whom these presents shall come Greetings: know ye that by virture of an Exchanged Treasury warrant, number five hundred and thirteen issued the twenty first day of May, seventeen hundred and ninety three there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto Meshack Perdue, a certain tract or parcel of land, containing two hundred and five acres, by survey bearing date, the twentieth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eight; lying and being, in the county of Franklin, on the waters of Black water and bounded as followeth, to with: Beginning at pointers formerly a black oak, thence south fifty nine degrees west forty poles to a black oak, north fifty five degrees west seventy three poles to two spanish oaks, north three degrees, west one hundred and eighty poles to pointers, south fifty seven degrees, west ninety two poles to a post oak in Lumsdens line and with the same north three degrees, east sixty poles to a white oak in Prices line and with it north eighty two degrees, east ten poles to a white oak in Dillons old line and with it south seventy five degrees, east two hundred and thirty poles crossing two branches to a black oak in Lennards line and with it south five degrees, east two hundred and ten poles to the beginning, with its appurtenances; To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances, to the said Meshack Perdue and his heirs forever. In witness whereof the said John Tyler, esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonweath to be affixed at Richmond, on the tenth day of October in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and nine, and of the Commonwealth the thirty-fourth.
