PLYBON Franklin County, VA 1882 BK 35, Page 251 This deed made this 28th day of Aug, 1882 between Eli Ferguson and Mahala his wife of the 1st part and Silas O. Plybon of the second part Witnes that in consideration of one hundred and ninty dollars cash in hand paid Eli Ferguson and Mahala his wife doth grant unto Silas O. Plybon all this right title and interest with general warrenty to a certain lot of land lying on Lynville Road adjoining the lands of C._. Robertson, James Robertson & others and bounded by the lines of C._. Robertson James Robertson to the Lynville road near a tobacco barn thence to a chestnut thence to a blazed (sic) white oak in Stephen Ferguson line thence with Stephen Fergusons line to James Robertsons line containing fifty acres more or less--Witness our hands and seals this 28th day of Aug 1882 Test Signed Eli Ferguson (Seal) L. Ridgeway Justices of the peace for the county of Franklin State of Virginia do certify that Eli Ferguson this day personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid and acknowledged the above deed bearing that on the 28th day of Aug 1882, And we furthermore certify that Mahala the wife of Eli Ferguson this day personally appeared before us in our county aforesaid, deed having been examined by us privily and apart from husband and having the said deed fully explained to her, she, the said Mahala, the wife of Eli Ferguson signed and acknowledged the above deed bracing date us before mentioned and says she does it willingly and without any undue persuasion from her husband and does not wish to retract it Given under our hands this 28 day of Aug 1882 Signed L.H.
